The Prostate Cancer Charity

The Prostate Cancer Charity uses the money raised through Movember to provide information and support for men with prostate cancer and their families, campaigns to improve the lives of men affected by the disease as well as funding vital research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

Debrett's has teamed up with the Modern Gents of Movember

Movember is an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues.

Mo Bros, supported by their Mo Sistas, start Movember (November 1st) clean shaven and then have the remainder of the month to grow their moustache.

Each Mo Bro becomes a walking billboard for men’s health, raising essential funds and awareness for Movember’s men’s health partner – The Prostate Cancer Charity. Last year 45,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas took part across the country raising more than £5 million.

Every year nearly 36,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in men; every hour at least one man dies from the disease in the UK alone.
 

Help change the face of men’s health

To get involved, register online at Movember.com. Once registered, each Mo Bro must start 1 Movember clean shaven.

Then, for the entire month of Movember each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache according to Mo Bro Law:

• There is to be no joining the mo to the side burns. That’s a beard.

• There is to be no joining the handlebars on the chin. That’s a goatee.

• A small complementary growth under the bottom lip is allowed (AKA The Tickler).

The quest for the Modern Gentleman

This year, Movember are celebrating the Modern Gentleman – a cause close to Debrett’s heart.

A true gentleman is rare indeed. He does exist, but in today’s world he can often be hard to spot. As a general rule, a modern gent can hold his own in any situation, is not flashy or vulgar, is well informed and takes pride in his appearance.

Grooming is taken seriously and he would prefer never to appear in public looking anything less than his best. A modern gentleman is also known to gravitate toward the finer things in life. He knows no other way.
